its impossible because they program the machine to pick out the numbers after everyone else choose so they knkow when they will let someone win

some geologiist in canada cracked the code on some scratch and win tickets. Tickets to that game are no longer available. It was a tic tack toe kind of game that had numbers exposed befor you scratch. if a certain number only showed up once it was a winner. I simplified it, the article was on gizmodo.

I know a guaranteed way not to lose on the lottery.

Basically tell everyone you know that if you win the lottery you will give them half of your winnings if they agree to do the same. Most will agree - make sure someone witnesses the agreement. In law you have just formed a contract.

Of course you never play the lottery! ;)

Probably because most of them seem to be "negative Nellies", atleast the couple that I know. They have the attitude that There is no way to win (and are extremely negative), so therefore they don't. If they buy a ticket, they say to themselves- its not a winner, and I won't win the lottery...so therefore it isnt a winner, and they don't win the lottery (or any amount of money). Attitude is only part of it though, but a big one I think. Just my 2 cents

I never seen a lotto winner say 'I knew I was going to win this one because I really believed it'. Can you show me one? Might give some credibility to the idea of lotto winners getting their numbers picked by way of esoteric manipulation.

Having a M.Sc. in Applied Math, and being exposed to large community of mathematicians, who at some stage dream about cracking this code or another. I can say that the best you can do is improve your chances for winning.

The most promising attempt to predict the numbers was made using Chaos Theory. You basically model the chaotic behavior of the numbers generating machine. Like every system out there its behavior is not random - its chaotic. I.e. it follows some fundamental laws that look random to us.

The problem is you need a large number of samples to 'learn' the chaotic behavior of the machine. And just as you think you have collected enough samples for that task - the lottery team changes the machine a little (oh yeah they know about Chaos Theory as well). There you go - new machine, new behavior, your model no longer valid.

Sounds like they may outsource this task to Google one day.

odds of winning: 1 in 14 million
    cost of ticket: $1
    jackpot value: $5
cost of 14 millions tickets (gauranteed win!): $14million
    loss: $5million - $14million = -$9million

That about sums up the lottery

ive been thinkin about this lately and im willing to pay something to create a bot for me that will extract the popular drawn #'s from this site and use it to give me 10 different draw outputs. http://www.usamega.com/mega-millions-stats.asp pls contact me via pm if interested... thanks in advance...

If you are a materialist then there exists an ALMIGHTY equation that explains everything in the world otherwise I would imagine the lottery is based on chance unless its chosen by computers and in that case you'd have to crack the RNG

The scam is not in rigging the balls, it's in 'reserving' electronic tickets (pretty much like blank checks) and then making them winners. At least that's how it's done with the state lottery in Mexico called 'MeLate' (MyHunch), so it's an inside job; I heard it straight from a (very very drunk) high level politician that's in the circle of my best friend's dad.

As a mathematician you should know that there is difference between idealized models and real world implementations. Theoretically the chances may be 1:15 000 000 but in practice it is probably 1:8 000 000 or less. That's why there are so many jackpots and not just one in 5 months or something

There are just too many variables to tweak in order to maintain odds at 15M: the spehere is not a perfect sphere, nor are the balls, as have different mass, temperature, radius, aerodynamics... even the earth gravity changes constantly. If the code for the theoretical is broken, it still won't work in real life so tell your dreaming math friends that since they haven't realized even this simple issue, it is probably best to change the profession.

    Dear Monrox,

You are obviously not familiar with statistical models. They don't really care about the mass, temperature, radius and aerodynamics. They are able to take a 'training data set' and to find complex connections within it - the ones you will fail to find if you try to create a physical model. This is known as 'statistical modeling'.

The 'training data set' are the historical numbers generated by the machine in the lottery case.

There is one lottery winner that used visualization to win, Cynthia Stafford. She visualized 112 million for 4 months and then won it. Here is an article on her:

You can also look her up on youtube and google

I am not against self motivation, but that specific story reminds me of an old joke:

A young entrepreneur asked an elderly man how he became so wealthy. The old man sat back in his chair and pondered for a moment:

?Back during the Great Depression, when I was just a young boy, I found a nickle. With that nickle, I went to market and bought myself an apple. I shined it up, and sold it for a dime. The next day, I bought 2 apples, and shined them up and sold them each for a dime.

?Then my uncle died and I inherited a million dollars.?

Good luck man I thought about this before and actually tried but when it started to give me the worst migraine I could imagine it was the last straw for me but of course I am not no genius wish I was but if you are great at math and have the patience and dedication I say good luck and if you do crack the system share with the member on BHW and hopefully we can all live our dream on being financially free and partying all night ;) again GOOD LUCK bro
