I was thinking about putting some stamps on money to get some referrals to a survey site but is it legal? I have heard very mixed answers about 50/50. Also could I put stickers in bathroom stalls? Would this be legal? I'm probably going to do it regardless of if it's legal or not but it would be nice to know.

In the United States, it is considered as "defacing currency", which is illegal.

As far as currency laws outside of the United States, I cannot say.

stamp 100x1$ bills, go to 7/11, buy gum, repeat 100 times with different 7/11's or w/e corner shop thingy you've got around your city and accepts cash, like newspaper stands, lemonade stands, etc...

if asked about the stamp say you got it as change... no one will care...

Definitely illegal OP. I suspect people have been trying this since the 19th century. You can however do it for non-commercial purposes. Theres a website called Wheres George which tracks the movement of bills around the country

That sentence is pretty dumb mate.

Anything you can think of is totally legal.

There, did that make you feel better?

    Brilliant ideas.

You could also buy cans of spray paint and write your url on walls and pavements.

I think in the UK it would be illegal as well. I'm sure there was a thread on this before, and someone was toying with the idea of clipping something on to the notes instead...

It will be illegal in most countries.
And why do you want to even do that, there are lot more promotional methods which can be done offline.
Print out flyers and pamphlets and spear them out.

Google "Money Drop Cards". They are not illegal. You get them printed up
with your ad on one side and the other side looks similar to paper currency.
You fold it with the fake bill showing on the outside and then you drop them
on the ground or in malls, or anyplace else you can think of. People love 'em
and they tend to hang on to them.

Most print shops can order them special for you also.

It is illegal and when the authorities realize you're doing it, they will find you pretty fast. Money is public property, not your personal property. You own the value of it, not its physical representation.

That's a very nice ideia, i was thinking about that the other day. You could promote biz opps in places people that need money could be like bus stations, rich people drive cars everywhere right they don't care if it is expensive, time is money
