No as long as you don't claim to be a Doctor. Then that may cause some issues.

How many doctors are curing diseases anyway? Lol.

It's all in the disclaimer. If you write out a good one you can pretty much do whatever you want. Make sure that it has the typical disclaimer...

"Not to be taken as professional medical advice, not to substitute, treat or diagnose any problem, ect, ect...."

    You will be fine...

I would say as long as you can mention were you get your references from for your cure etc you will be ok, if start saying you created the cure then there would be problems.

The following opinion is not to be taken as legal advice. Please consult an actual attorney before deciding to take any action.

There is a BIG difference between making recommendations and giving advice for someone to follow, and reporting documented findings based on research.

The former would be illegal if you are not a doc. The latter is not.

You can still be sued if someone is either injured or dies as a result of your information. The disclaimer may provide you some protection, but if you don't really understand your subject matter and are not a medical professional, you could unknowingly give harmful or even fatal advice.

When it comes to medical related information, you have a duty to provide accurate and sound medical advice in your product. You can not represent yourself as something you are not.

If you fail to adequately research your subject and that information proves fatal or even injures someone, then that is called "breach of duty" (you failed to properly provide accurate and safe information).

You have caused this person damages of some sort (as they have now died as a direct result of following your advice).

At that point you are in REAL trouble. You can be sued or worse.

If you are providing information about natural cures that is one thing (you could still get yourself in trouble), but if you write a book proclaiming a certain cure for a specific condition, then you are asking for trouble.

That would constitute fraud. You are also practicing outside of your scope of practice as a non-medical professional (I am assuming that you have no medical experience).

The advice that you have been given in the above posts is WRONG!

My brother is an attorney (Medical Malpractice) and I am Medical Professional and Certified in an area of medicine/law that concentrates on malpractice and legal issues.

While the logic presented in the other posts may make common sense, it is not based in actual case law.

I would strongly urge you to have your ebook reviewed by a medical professional for its accuracy and safety, prior to offering it.

    Include a disclaimer:

"The materials in this ebook are for entertainment purposes only. I am not a licensed physician, nor do I claim to have any academic knowledge in the field of (whatever disease)."

    Cheers! - "Wiz"

Yep, thats your best bet. Also include something about how taking action on whatever is disclosed in the book... "The reader does at his or her own risk."

You get what I mean I am sure.

I forgot to add that this extends to articles, content, videos, ebooks or any other medium that you would use to provide said information.

You should know that you are responsible for the information that you put out there, especially if someone can be injured die from using it.

It is ILLEGAL to represent yourself as a Lawyer, Doctor, Nurse or any other professional.

Do NOT do it. If you are caught, you will prosecuted for that. That is actual FRAUD and has nothing to do with BH.
