No it is not illegal at all... if you own the tv series or it is not protected by copyright or you have legal permission from the rightful owners.

Well then it is legal to have a search query on your site that gives results of different series and where to watch them or torrent them, or host things in an iframe, or allow people to host them at other places and display the series on your site right? I mean it has to be legal to do that because that is exactly what Google and Facebook do millions of times EVERY DAY so it has to be legal right?

Oh wait maybe not. Hmmm well then why is Kim Dotcom in jail right now and Mark Zuckerberg is free as a bird???

Actually Megaupload was closed for other reasons. Search about what they wanted to release in a couple of months. They got shut down because what Megaupload wanted to do, would destroy a lot of profits and piss off a lot of people up there :)

I have read the indictment (72 pages) and they did not got closed because of what they WANTED to do but what the already DID: Paying people for uploading copyright material on their servers (like TV series).

Of course there are sites which offer TV series, but it is just not legal and that was the question.

Do it. Just use an offshore host and you'll be fine.

I don't think you fully understand what mutatedllama's thread was about.

He doesn't actually host the videos for his traffic. He brings them in with a teaser of some kind, locks the content until they complete a CPA offer, then he REDIRECTS to a site that offers the content (Graboid, I believe, is what he uses).

He's not hosting the content. Just showing people where to get it.

I mean this guy asks if he can use a copyrighted material for his own profit and feel clean about it. "the WHOLE series" he says...damm!

Congratulations on bumping an almost 6 month thread. I hope you didn't do so to raise your post count. On a side note, it's disabled in the lounge anyway.
