Suppose you write an article on your website about a group or particular person, and the content is somewhat insulting to the subject, That's illegal?

    Thanks

A person has the right to publish digital data on the web and that can be protected by the US 'First Amendment' However if you disparage and insult people or companies et al. Then expect Lawyers to be all over you and be assurred that if the attorneys move in on you - then wave goodbye to all your money you have in the bank!

So my advice would be think it - but don't print it!

Only if the money is known to be in a bank. Im sure a secret Russian or Bulgarian one no one knows about, because it is owned by a company in your name there, they will not find out about it.

Probably not illegal in most situations as the laws vary all over the place and you can have an opinion.

In your opinion that group or person is a chump, You expressed that in your opinion they are a chump. You're entitled to have an opinion whether right or wrong.

I recently had an issue with an auto dealership that was taking too long to resolve and shared with the General Manager that my opinion was that I was not getting what I paid for... he disagreed.

I explained what I did for a living and that I would share my opinion on the internet and be on page 1 of Google with a handful of sites relative to the name of the dealership if they did not do what they stated they would do... he then agreed that with my opinion and rectified the situation.

Have an opinion and not able to come to any reasonable solution?

Sharing is not a bad thing as long as you let the world know it is opinion.

If the comments are racist, incite violence or hatred, then that would be illegal, as would trying to incite criminality in others. If the comments are defamatory AND are a lie, then that would be libel (or possibly slander, the two are closely related) however if they are the truth then it isn't illegal.

Generally just because someone finds what you write offensive, that doesn't make it illegal; you have the right to hold those views and to publish them. (May the Gods bless Freedom of Speech!)

Generally, as long as you word your writings carefully, you can keep yourself in the clear, but if you're writing something which is going to be contentious, controversial or will pi$$ off a big corporation, be prepared for some angry comments or a possible lawsuit. Whether what you said is unlawful or not is mostly beside the point, you would bankrupt yourself arguing your case. (although if you got a good lawyer and ARE right, you could get some nice damages and milk it for defamation, lost earnings, stress caused etc. If you're in the right the sky's the limit, but be prepared to fight to prove it.)

Is it illegal!!! It depends on your country of origin. You have freedom of your opinion but you cant hurt other. If they thinks they are not rightfully insulted and they want you to prove your rightfulness then its courts matter and of course money.
