"Eden Prairie restaurants" has 1,000 global monthly searches but the competition is low. I want to make a website that ranks high when people type in that exact keyword. However when I do a Google search, the first few websites that show are urbanspoon, yelp, and tripadvisor. So my question is, even though the Google Adwords keyword tool says the competition is low, would it still be easy to outrank these review websites if I focus on that exact keyword?

Google keywords tool competition is for AdWords only and can't be used for organic listing.

Can you explain what you mean by this? Is there a way to see the competition of keywords in general?

Tripadvisor previously wasn't too hard to beat for low comp keywords, but I have found that Google seem to love them more and more with each algo update. Not too sure about yelp.
