How hard is to outrank authority sites such as alibaba and similar for some smaller keywords?
How would a website be an authority website if nobody linked to it?
Well in my eyes an authority website is a website with lots of content on it and therefore that makes it easier to rank?
I think with 0 backlinks it will be very difficult. But an authority website is not just a website with lots of content, the content should be good quality, and if the content is good, you'll probably get a few natural links anyway
The thing is, the authority sites that are first don't even have the exact keyword in url or description
Nope, It's not hard if you know the juice!
If it's actually an authority website, other people will link to it.
The advantage you have over the big boys is the majority of the times their pages are pre-generated.
All you need to do is create custom landers that are a little more targeted and more useful for the searcher and you can win.
But of course you'd need links - I don't know why you wouldn't want them? They're the best element that makes your rankings rock solid.
If you pick the right keyword and the authority websites aren't targeting that exact keyword, then no, it's not difficult to outrank authority websites without building backlinks, but you had better have great on-page optimisation strategies to compensate.
You are not for real...or are you?
OP.....for the win.
Couldn't have picked a better username lol
You said it all.
Website with a lot of quality backlinks is an authority website. The premise is simple: if you have awesome content, people will link to you, and if they link to you - that means your content is great!
In G eyes authority site should have authority links . for alibaba example it's big company and well known trademark . can you create such site .
For me it's unknown how company site like alibaba become known in first place is it because it start business too earlier and focus on their brand only . and most of their visitors in beginning comes from PPC campaigns so people link to it naturally .
OP, You need to have an excellent onpage seo and then building up power, trust and relevance via links.
In my opinion, out ranking authority sites is pretty tough. Sites like Amazon, Ebay, and even Alibaba pretty much solidify themselves as trustworthy in the eyes of the SERPs. Some SEOs have reffered to them as mountains as they are just really hard to move from the top spots.
Hmmm I think it'd depende on the keyword every keyword is different, with I'd go with at least a couple backlinks
No need to beat around the bush. The answer to your question is no. You cannot outrank authority sites without backlinks no matter how low the level of competition is.
There is the answer to all who want to become an authority site, you ppc advertise and while you do people will link to you. Also offer an affiliate program, where you can grab more people building affiliate pages to you for your money. There is no secret sauce, other than psychology (triggering sales emotions in potential buyers to spend their money on your product).
Most of you got the title wrong maybe it's because I wrote it that way.
I meant to build good quality backlinks on my site, but those authority sites have NO Backlinks ( when I say this I mean big recognized names such as amazon, alibaba... with lots of stuff on their site)
Separate names with a comma.
