I see some people saying competition doesn't matter if you got your linkbuilding right, and they don't have a sizable amount of backlinks, but say what if it is like PR3, 100 backlinks and no desc title domain or h1 match?

Is it feasible if the PR/BLs start getting higher, but still no matches?

i have some pages of PR 0-1 that has better PR than me(pr 4-6) and decent onsite SEO.

Just do a good onpage SEO and good links with good anchor text for some weeks and...you'll defeat them!

Competition doesn't matter if you got your linkbuilding right AND money to spend AND time to wait.

I can't answer your question cause I don't know at what level you are playing the game. It can be easy, it can be nearly impossible, it depends on you.

But imo, if you want to improve your SEO skills, you have to go for some competition. You can learn every manual, you can ask tons of questions but at the end of the day, what makes you good is how hard you have worked on the field, how many mistakes you have made and how many lessons you have learnt.

    I've outranked many sites with:

    better content
    PR-1-5
    better onpage SEO
    more backlinks
    older domain

Purely with diverse backlinks and better linking strategy than my competitors. Even post panda. I never pay attention to anyones PR when deciding about going after rankings for a particular keyword.

Don't believe all the hype man! You won't know until you try.

Cool, thanks dude, and the dude who posted above you.

I'm just trying to get my research/strategy onpoint, as I'm doing a gamut of local sites to hopefully monetize within the next month, to reinvest into some higher shit.

    Main keyword in Meta Title:
blue widgets | big blue widget | bludewidgetkiller.com

Main KW in first sentence of description (some say no I say why not?) this is also your opportunity to write something to entice a click. Check out the competitions meta descriptions and find one that makes you want to click and make something similar:

Find blue widgets and kill it online! We have blue widgets at half the price of the competition, get a quote today!

Main Keyword in Post/Page Title (preferrably in the beginning):

How Can Blue Widgets Increase my online coversions?

    Main Keyword in first sentence

    Main Keyword in last sentence

Main Keyword at least once in body

Main keyword highlighted, underlined, bolded, or italicised at least once
(why not bold the keyword in first and last sentence)

    One outbound authority link: http://www.about.com/bluewidgets
(I make it ********, haters will say never to do it but the whole point of an
outbound is sharing useful info from an authority and I've never seen this hurt my PR or rankings)

At least one and no more than 2 interlinks: http://bluewidgetkiller.com/whatisabluewidget (make sure link matches page it's linking to and even better that it's relevant to anchor. So anchor text for this would read "blue widget"

Find 5-10 LSI keywords utilizing favorite keyword tool or Google wonderwheel. Sprinkle them 1 time or more throughout page/post

first meta keyword is main keyword. Some say no not a factor, I say, why not? Takes you 2 seconds

You want one image and make sure to use your main keyword with alt tag.

I write all posts/pages at 600=1000+ words. Post panda I've definitely noticed better rankings with better onpage content and structure with more words.

I'm sure I probably forgot something but this is the core of onpage SEO that I use. Hope that helps.

Specific niche sites which have good on-site SEO and keywords in their domain name seem to always rank better than a broad and large high PR website which only has a deep page rankings for the keyword you are targeting.
