I've tested this on a number of occasions, any my view is that if you can find an expired domain with good stats AND relevant anchors, it will be helpful to ranking faster.
Otherwise, I don't think it makes a difference.

I am finding EMD's are easiest for ranking, but then again I am not going for long term.

Do you think I should edit my comment to keep hold of my reputation? I would not like someone like Skyrocket out doing me.

I'd answer this with 1 question and 1 example (to keep things simple).

    1) If expired domains don't rank faster or provide some significant sort of SEO juice or leverage... then why are people both buying and selling these domains for 5-10 times what they're worth?

    2) An example thread: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ssions/736030-clickbank-journey-4k-month.html . Tbo though I'm not very clear what he's using. He said he's using an "aged" domain but he's only been working on CB for 1 year so it can't be that old. Maybe he's buying aged domains or buying expired domains and letting them "age" a few months. I don't know. But I will be trying that method out using expired domains.

The domain might dropped in between. With the domains becoming expired I would imagine the links would eventually disappear.Actually aged domains rank well than new domains,But buying the right domains is key.

If you find a website with a good backlink profile, then yes, it's going to outrank a new domain. This is especially true for long-tail keyword pages.

I picked one up the other day and threw some content on it and redirected my new site to it it's very meh. Nothing big but the good news is you can build authority quicker i guess.

I just to do this a lot
working on several authority domains at once to see wich one moved quicker to the top
its a good strategy but you need to really check the background of the domains youre redirecting
if your setting adsense your authorities and you redirect a fishy domain wich is penalized with Google, it might hurt your site
take special care on the redirected ones checking up and down to make sure you get what you want

From my experience people are ranking political party domains w/o any backlinks for clickbank niches ,I've checked them, 9+ yrs old unrelated .

Aged domains are ranking like hell,But iam not finding any good one less than 600$.

expired domains are working like a charm, bank hard before its too late
always check quality of backlinks - i suggest you to buy domains which has more than 50 referring domain
    go for PA>32 and DA>24
    TF>12

Buy expired domain with above metrics and create a website in medium competition niche. Write meta tags smartly so that it can target several long tail keyword also. Get the domain indexed if its not. So far i have bought around 20 non indexed expired domains and out of which 16 got indexed within 3 days.

Create some backlinks and you will be on top position within 2 months if all done correctly. Hit me up if you have any questions

    Thanks

In my opinion based on experience, expired domains (or PBN) are one of the most powerful tool you have to rank sites if you do it right. For low competition keywords, 3-5 links from PBN sites can take you up to first page or top 3.

My experience is that it takes a while for the old links to take effect, after you have registered the domain and made the site, but when they kick in all is good :)
