    Hi, people.

I was wondering if it is better to use Facebook Ads on a fan page or to a landing page and why? What are the advantages and disadavantages of using Ads on a fan page or directly to a website?

    Thanks.

Directing ads to a fan-page could result in page likes, meaning, the person who liked your page is interested and will most likely engage in future content you post. Fan-page likes will be more expensive then website hits so you have to consider both options, it really depends on what you are offering, etc.

I would recommend you send them to your website directly, instead of sending them to your fan page.
This is because facebook is lowering post visibility constantly.

You might get 1,000 people to like your page, and they will be part of it for ever. However, when you make a post only a fraction of those people will get to see it.
You'll have to "boost your post" by paying facebook, simply to ensure that all your fans see your post.

On the other hand, this could prove great in the long term. You might be in an interactive niche, where you end up creating a forum of interested buyers.
You'll have to test them out individually and see which one works best for you.

You have to think on what your goals are.

If its direct sales, obviously, it will work better to send people to your website rather than the FB page.

These are 2 different properties with different benefits.

Using the FB page is cheaper, if you do it right, than sending people to your website.
You can also use this as lead generator, have call to action buttons, reply to people comments, have some kind of contests, apps etc.

With website, you can achieve other objectives such as subscribers, direct contacts and better lead generation, direct purchases, remarket your customers/potential ones, do A/B tests to improve your site, sell your business, cause its your property etc.

Facebook is getting stricter with landing pages, they are going the same route Google did years back. Landing pages that just collect optins or standard CPA landers are now being considered as bridge pages and will get you banned for sure. Sending them to your content page with optin forms would be the better choice if you want to stay compliant.
