    Well,
While we did the research about our next project, i was wondering if it is better to create 1 Big site with 500-600 Articles, or to seperate that site in 5-6 sub-niches and add 70-80 articles per site?

I mean in terms of ranking, and seo, is it better to go with a bigger site, or just go with mini sites on that niche?

Big site is less setup cost, with more risk I'd say.

Start with 5 and 10 articles. If you see that you start to get good rankings then keep adding content and make it an authority site. If it keeps doing well you'll end up getting more traffic from long tail than from the main keyword.

Make sure to continue adding 4 or 5 articles each month.

You can start with a few mini authority sites and see how they do and keep updating the ones that succeed until you've created several authority sites. Because it's going to be frustrating if you only create an authority site and it doesn't rank very well, you're going to have more probabilities to rank 5/6 mini sites.

Create the 5/6 mini sites, put 5 good articles on each, do some basic on site and off site seo, wait for them to rank, and keep working on the ones that succeeded.

That's what I do. Hope it helps.

edit: jrenzi beat me to it!

    It depends on your goals:

A: If you plan on going super white hat then go authority site, single site and put all your focus on it.

B: If losing your authority site means to much to you OR if your concerned your link building tactics may lead to penalty use multiple sites as a part of a risk mitigation strategy.

    Yeah,
I'm also thinking to go with 4-5 different mini authority sites. I have the content, that is not problem at all. Just wanted to get some opinions before moving on.
Thanks a lot for your opinions that you are giving, they will help me decide which is the best option.

Start with one authority site. make it work and then scale. Starting with 4-05 will mean you will be spreading your time and effort on all of them instead and it will take that much longer. Instead work on one of them. Make it work. Sit back and analyze how you made it work and repeat with other sites. Just my 2 cents. That is the model I am going after trying multiple sites and burning out.

This exactly. You'd be surprised how much time it can take to manage multiple sites. If you've got the first site working and you have a niche stream of money flowing in, maybe create another site and repeat the process with that. You can always get virtual assistants to manage your sites when you have more money.
