I don't know but surely it can't be that easy!

It would be better to generate a sales page for your target with 5+ pages on unique content. Cloak your links or just refer to the sales page.

I would also do a few other ways of promotion while PR Storm is running in the background.

but i am specifically thinking about large number of domains with redirect only, no content, just automatic redirect and they take your affiliate without knowing.

i hitup about 100k sites, at 8 hits per site and didnt get 1 single click through, never mind sale :S I have no idea waht went wrong.

You would be better to design an autoblog farm, monetize them with your affiliate links and use PR Storm to drive traffic.

That way you can do mass/easy creation, somewhat SERP friendly, options to link your sites and the ability monetize.

My opinion: Just redirecting sites to affiliate offers hardly ever work without something as a landing or squeeze page. Also harder/expensive to promote.

The problem is, Google isn't that stupid. Keep your link building looking natural and overtime, make sure your content pages don't just start popping out of the water, Google can tell when you're spamming, where does thousands or hundreds or tenths of pages come from out of the blue and with all of these magical links? Build your pages and links slowly and with quality (days, weeks, get going now). IP cloaking is also being threatened, since I personally know that Google has unmarked bots from unique unmarked IP's. I recommend autoblogging honestly, cloaking is being threatened.
