Hi! I am from Nepal and thinking of starting online business related to beauty/skincare. It is getting popular more than ever since COVID-19 started. However, with the hype it has, there are lot of websites and social media pages who sell duplicate products. I have done a lot of research and know a lot about skincare, but still unsure if I should start it or not. Could any of you please suggest me ideas about this? And how do I gain trust of customers?

As for your question, it’s a good idea but you need to differentiate yourself from the competition so it depends what sort of thing you have in mind, how you plan to make money and how you are going to use your knowledge of the industry to add value.

Every business model works, stop analyzing and start taking action.

Amazon FBA works.

SEO works

Affiliate marketing works.

Niche sites work.

Selling courses works.

And yes, selling beauty products works as well.

What doesn't work is a lack of action because you're considering which is the BEST.

Start, fail & adapt

Are you thinking about selling locally?
Do you have connections and sources to get products cheaper than others? If yes, then go for it. But don't invest what you can't afford to lose.

If you are new, try some less competitive market maybe? You need a good budget just for the start.

There is room for everyone, however, there are already a lot of big sharks in the market which may put you in trouble

Thank you so much! Reading this gives so much of confidence.

1 question only - how are you going to market it?
the rest doesn't matter.
I have been thinking about it. I'm currently practicing SEO and hope I get more ideas :) Thank you for your time.

Exactly! I'm just trying to get an idea to be different from them and will work on it more. Thank you for your time :)

Yes I'm trying to sell it locally. I need to import products from different country so I have figured out ways to get them cheaper and benefit here. I'm sure I won't be losing anything, but just trying to get more competitive and make my business grow. Thank you for your time :)

I chose this market as I have a lot of related knowledge, and in Nepal, considering beauty and skincare in a good way is somehow new. I don't know what else I can start with but will surely work on it :)
