Is it a bad idea to Ping my Bookmarks and webdirectory links 2 or 3 times a week?

I've been creating backlinks for two sites for over a month now and only one set of links from one social site shows up in yahoo site explorer. I've read a lot about having to wait until the links are indexed (if ever). What I wanna know is whether a regular pinging (maybe every day) of my created links will get me banned and my links tossed out, or whether it's a good idea.

Also one of the site is a micro niche site with little competition. I took the time to save the page when I did web status directory submissions and transferred the cleaned up urls to notepad. I pinged all 2500 of them again the next day. Will this help or am I just wasting my time?

    Any feedback is appreciated.

Ok.. I guess I mis-understood. I just saw the "Social Sites" section and thought this would be the right place to post.

If a moderator will close this thread I'll try to find the right place to post. But I guess that will be tomorrow or much later since I don't want to start another until this one is closed. :(

    Thanks for the correction.
