I want to buy a aged domain for my website. The problem is I'm not able to find a aged domain with a name related to my keyword/niche?

Is it okay to start a website on a completely random named domain. Let's say my website is about shoe reviews. Is it then okay is I buy a domain names startsap.com or something like that (just an example.)

Can this become a brand ?

If you want to make a brand then don't worry about matching your domain name with your niche. However keep in mind that it will take more time. If you are in a bit of hurry then choose a domain with your target keywords/niche in it.

    Cheers!

Its fine, you can then brand it to reflect your shoe business.

For better SEO, if the url is similar to the service its better, if you want to build brand name then no issues, you can build any brand on any niche, but its better that somewhat similar url is well understood by all.

The effects of an EMD on ranking has been lessened so I am not sure if you would see any type of difficulties in using a domain without keywords in the domain.

Ultimately it will depend more on whether or not the domain has any history or an existing backlink profile that is no longer relevant. Having non-relevant backlink profiles also doesn't have to be a big issue if you are looking for the long term gains then even an irrelevant backlink pattern shouldn't be too restrictive, providing there is a good variation in the current anchor texts.

You can go with it. EMD is not the best approach. If you use random domain name, Before banning your site, google thinks at least 3 times. But if you use EMD, google never thinks about you. It's just an example. The most important thing is "Backlinks". I think, you have enough knowledge to check that. :)
