Is Instagram threads complete copycat of Twitter?

Twitter and Threads are very similar but they are two different platforms and it's obvious that people needed a new platform like Threads because of all the updates on Twitter, so it's really good to have it.

Some people might be annoyed with Elon Musk changing decisions and for th only threads will come as a solution. But I am asking what new will they get on this platform?
