So I have been doing a bit of thinking... and I have asked myself this question: Is IM ever going to become so saturated that most of the methods used on this forum such as spamming P or T or F will be completely banned in just a few hours? Think about it just for a second heh With an ever growing need for processing power at some point, big companies like Twitter, Facebook or whoever might have access to super anti-spam tools that will completely shut down and maybe even predict that kind of marketing? I know, people on this forum are always coming up with new ideas that will outplay those tools, but at some point in the future we might close to the point of no return where some things simply won't work. This is just a hypothesis of mine, what do you think of it?
Yes, it already is saturated. Look at the number of noobs who call themselves "IMers" on here. I am the IMers antithesis and would never call myself an IMer. I hate the term anyway. Google has already caught up with most of the junk you read on here.
As long as there is innovation, IM will not be saturated. that is why we need more creative ideas now
For example you and me both. We use Twitter and FL to make followers, monetize them at one point, yada, yada. At some point, this method will most likely go extinct, I was mostly referring to these types of methods. IM will never die as it it a big part of the marketing, but some methods that good percent use will die and methods like that will die within hours. Just my opinion.
Internet marketing probably won't ever become saturated since there are so many people who get into this industry with no intention of building a business (or putting in any effort), fail once, and then abandon the idea of making money online. Even if Internet marketing ever became saturated, you have to remember that the industry is still young and in the "cowboy" phase where anyone can call themselves an Internet marketer (as archon10 stated). Eventually, there will be some sort of regulation in the industry and these cowboys will vanish, taking the saturation with them.
Yes, i can see your point..some methods will die but you should also consider that new methods will be born as well..that is why we need innovation You said the big companies will have access to super antispam technologies, well so are we, we also going to have access to superspamming technologies
Ah basically this is the answer I was looking for. So at some point in the future, only the "whales" with resources (money, whatever) will survive?
IM doesn't equal spam, if you can't make money anymore because your just spamming get into actual content creation or marketing useful products. Or get into IM for local businesses, there are always local businesses starting up that neeed marketing services.
No, no you misunderstood me, I did not mean to say that IM means spamming the shit out of social network to make money. I was simply trying to say that at one point in time it will be harder for someone to get into IM because of an ever growing awareness from big social media sites. They will become X times better at detecting money making attempts and they will shut them down faster. I was mostly talking about these kinds of method. I admit, I use spam and its going pretty nice, but then again, I am only serving the content people like and want.
They don't have a problem with people using them to make money, if they did they would be banning so many websites and brands from using twitter.
everything in this world is about money......so any social media in the future will allow more users to make money......this IM sound to be huge and the opportunities are becaming more accessible...just compare the IM industrie in 2000 with nowdays....more competition and more money made...
im has come to stay. trust me when i say this, as long as there is the internet and as long as there are transactions all over the internet there will always be a way to make money on the internet.
For example, look at buying Facebook likes. Buying fake likes will do absolutely nothing for your page as you will lose them over the next few days most likely. Next example would be Google Sandbox, I don't know that much about it, but the big guys are learning every day and inveting something new. They are usually one step behind IMers. Maybe one that will change, who knows?
Google sandbox doesn't actually exist. http://www.lawolfe.com/blog/what-is-the-google-sandbox-effect.html
Not necessarily, if anything it'll just be more difficult for Raglesh or whatever to peddle their scams to unsuspecting small business owners. Think of it like how the medical board regulates doctors (whereas before there were plague doctors who were former fruit salesman running amok). It's not impossible to become a doctor these days, you just have to take some extra (difficult) steps that would discourage the people who would normally saturate the industry even further from trying. Although if or when that day comes is unknown.
