The book helps you learn how to automate the HTTP protocol.

This has not changed, the book is still relevant. All you are doing is sending text back and forth between the server, whether you are submiting a basic form, a multi part form, ajax / json etc.

Books on bots specifically written for C# are few and far between.

There's plenty of valuable things you can learn from this book, it covers most things you're likely to need to write a bot in C#.

if you want to learn to build bots with c#, this book is relevant.
but maybe you should learn first the very basics before proceeding on reading books about bot in C#.
