Is HostGator always this pain in the ass? I have finally decided to take action in IM and did lots of work. Now I am ready to invest some cash as well and first one in the list was to get good webhost and I heard HostGator was very good. So I decided to buy a baby plan for 3 years @ $214.65. I have Paypal A/C but not enough balance. So I asked my coworker to make a payment on the behalf of me but she faced lots of registration problems and my co-workers started to have a doubt that it might be a fraud. Finally after 1 week and after chatting with the staff for almost an hour (Chat history below). We manage to make a payment. When I chat with the staff, I double confirmed with the staff that after the payment my account will be active and he didn?t mention anything about phone verification. The payment was successful. I was very happy to receive my first hosting plan but little did I knew I had to call them and tell the all the credit card info. @[email protected]" to verify my a/c again. OMG! Not to mention when I call them the staff was speaking in a very rude tone. This is when I decided to give up and wait for the refund. I don?t mind going to think all this hassle by myself but asking someone else to do it would be too much to ask for. I will just go to my local bank and transfer the money to Paypal a/c and slap them with a new order. I know I am a noob oh well I did learn lots of lessons: Don?t ask for too much from your friend Get your own credit card ASAP Sometimes a company holds information so ask for every single detail before making a move Never rush! And have patience This is just a offsite problem, I can't wait to see what kind of problem I will run into when I start to do SEO and IM related work.
