    Im looking for a way to retrieve the PR of a url. From googling it seems google used to provide an API to use but its now gone.
    Is there another API that can be used?
    How is this usually done by say SEO Quake or other software?

    You have to scrape it - depending on the language you 'll use, there are probably classes already made to do this.

    i see, this is getting a lot more complicated than I first hoped. My project is in VB.NET but I could get it to use some PHP if i can find a class for that but everything im finding seems to be a good few years old and so out of date.

    Any online pr checkers with no captchas? would save me having to use the deathbycaptcha api as well.

    so the SEOQuake tool bar does it with the following request...
    Code:
    hxxp://toolbarqueries.google.com/tbr?client=navclient-auto&hl=en&ch= {{checksum??}} &ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&features=Rank&q=info: {url safe encoded}
    Encoding the urls easy enough but does anyone know how that checksum or hash value is calculated?
