Hey guys, i have a landing page set up which directs to my main site if called from another address, otherwise it stays the same. This is for sending dud traffic to, to increase my impressions on adverts.

My question is whether keeping it as a php file will arise much more suspicion than if it was left as a .htm file extension?

I have experimented with rewriteRule in htaccess but it always obviously passes the php file as that is what called the redirect.

I do not think this should cause any problems if you have everything set correctly. A lot of people are doing everything with php now a days because of its advantages. WIth php though, you should be able to get rid of the .php from showing. Is it showing??

Thanks for the quick reply, yes it's showing, do you mean there's a way to get rid of it so it simply shows domain.com/page instead of domain.com/page.php ?

php files alone dont make a difference, esp since a LOT of people use rewrite rules ( all my phps have .html extensions ;) no matter on what kind of site :p ).

you should be able to hide the page itself by redirecting to a subdirectory and naming the file index.php.

Also if you want to encrypt from prying eyes, I just found a free software last night:
    Code:
    http://www.htmlgenerators.com/generators/encryptor.shtml

    Try this....

    PHP:
    RewriteRule ^([a-z0-9\-]+)$ /$1.php [L

Is this supposed to mask the php ?

    .htaccess looks like this:

    Options +FollowSymlinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule ^([a-z0-9-]+)$ /$1.php [L]

Doesn't seem to be doing much when i view a php file

Just come across: AddType application/x-httpd-php .htm

Which if in .htaccess will execute php in htm named files, this is handy.

lol cookiestuff.php, I wonder if there's ever been a person clever enough to cookie stuff but dumb enough to name their page 'cookiestuff.php'.

Maybe I should do that for one of my niche sites, it's almost like having sex in public, you know it's wrong but that's half the fun!
