Is Google Ignoring Posts On Some Popular Guest Posting Sites?

    Read this today: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-buying-links-throwing-money-away-24003.html

    Essentially it is claiming that Google claims to ignore a great deal of "obvious" placed guest posts. Sites like BlogHer were mentioned, so I'm guessing that this comment is aimed at the millions of spammy posts on the more popular "free contributor" sites.

    Now then... is this claim even true? I'm not sure, as I've used these types of links (but with HIGH quality content) as a large part of my T1 and have still been able to gain rank steadily this year.

    My thoughts are that Google probably IS becoming more skeptical to the "free contributor" and over-spammed authority/guest post sites, and may even be ignoring posts with anything less than high quality content. But I don't feel that they've closed the door entirely, either.
