Hi. While creating new ads account I noticed "To get started, you’re charged $50 up front. If you decide that advertising isn’t for you, cancel your Google Ads account and we’ll refund the remaining money."
Geo USA. Have any of you encountered such a thing?

Your payment Geo is certainly not the USA

USA geos usually start with 350 dollars threshold for most new account

Its $50 for Africa and probably India

Europe is same as is between 150-250 dollars

You may actually not be on AdWords but on a partners platform

rothimi, You got me wrong. I am not talking about the threshold.
Usually, when adding payment method, google wathdraws ~1$ form the card. Now it said it will withdraw 50$.

After adding a credit card and agreeing, Google withdrew those 50$ I got 350$ threshold, and 50$ more in my balance.
I wasn't using any coupons, account is band new, created by me.

Unfortunately, I can't post images with img tag yet.

I have never heard of this kind of story & never seen anything happening like that. Anyways, it may be active for some bins/ for credit cards only.

I've never seen or heard anyone having that kind of problem or thing.

Google usually gets around a dollar or more to verify the status of card and once its approved they allow you to use threshold before actually charging the payment.

Yes there is still a payment threshold. Old accounts and pre-advertised accounts give more of them. This way I can help you with this if you want to have accounts available in my hand. The accounts are the accounts of the country of Germany with a payment threshold of € 300. You can only activate with a virtual card of € 1. I can show the accounts in detail.

I usually know that this process does not happen in new accounts. Google is checking your accounts first. This does not happen in old accounts. Old ads are running ads immediately. You pay when you arrive at the payment threshold.

Do not believe the bullshit. Your not alone, I believe it to be active for some BIN's specifically or those with higher risk score.

I just tried it with a new account. I used the coupon they give out to start advertising.
I have a pending $50 from google services on my CC. You can also try buying coupons that
take $25 to activate $100 in ads. This is the first time I see a pending $ amount from google services

I've experienced the $50 billing thing on new accounts.

Government ID and bank statement would be a killer, but I think G would end up scaring off too many genuine new customers if they implemented that, so it sounds like a step they might implement on suspicious new accounts.
