IS it accurate in terms of visitor numbers? it is telling me i have 50 per day but Zopim live support is telling e i have close to 300. Somebodys bullshitting somewhere

Analytics works on js which I have turned off using noscripts....
No idea what zopim is, but analytics can be slow sometimes, have you got the tracking code on all your pages?

Some analytics programs count spidering from all the different engines as a visit.

G doesn't so yeah, it's as close to right as you can get, unless you install your own tracking script..

there are so many different perspective on this as GA count visitors in different ways like GA track on IPs, browsers, cookies etc.. while others tools gives you total count whether it;s repeated visitor or same ip visitor
so as per my view and experience with GA i can say that GA provide accurate count..

It's accurate but Analytics is a footprint. If you link all your blogs with it, Google can review and monitor you closely and can ban all your autoblogs If you have them all connected.

I think GA only count real people visits..
And some other tools count people + bot visits..

It's can make a big differences in your stats (Especially if u build a lot of back links).
