I was just reading an article that was talking about how most companies who offer expired domain traffic are actually not offering you real visitors to your website. His theory was that these companies have bots that deliver all the traffic to your website, but no one actually is viewing the content on your website or even navigating to any other pages.

Can anyone explain this to me? Or, if you're a expired domain traffic seller, let me know, because I'm interested in purchasing some. Well, as long as everyone says it's legit, or the ones offering the service here at least.

It's definitely not bot traffic, it's more along the lines of PPC or "Pay Per Click" traffic in which people are paid to click links. It's human traffic and you don't know the source and you don't know the difference in quality between expired domain traffic in PPC traffic so it's not really not up to us to say otherwise.

I read a method somewhere that basically involved setting up fake forums, getting xrumer & other bots to post to them regularly, then switching the domain over to a parking page. supposedly the bots keep following the parking page links, thinking them to be forum links.

most people dont buy these with the intentions of making them convert into sales or clicks or leads. It's mostly for faking the amount of visitors or to increase alexa rankings
