    Hi,
Is .de a good extension,if its a single keyword domain name like prize.de ?
And from where to check the domain value, i mean the site most people trust.
I checked on estibot and its showing $1900 for one of the .de domain.
    So,shall i go for it?

.de is a very strong namespace however consider the following:

    1) German language generics would be worth more
    2) You need to have a physical address in Germany
    3) Germans actually prefer hyphens to non-hyphens

I grabbed one 2-letter .de domain in a landrush (used a virtual address for a month) a few years back and sold it for mid $XXXX

    Good luck!

Let me explain one by one:

    1) German language generics would be worth more ---> No. That is not a certain thing.
    2) You need to have a physical address in Germany ---> Yes they say so but who cares? Go and grab as many as from namecheap.
    3) Germans actually prefer hyphens to non-hyphens ---> No. That is not true.

I don't think it would have much value outside of Germany to be honest...

de domains are awesome if you consider the initial success of rapidshare. Think about it ;)

Don't agree I'm afraid. Sales on namebio.com back up the higher value of German language domains. Of course there will be exceptions but in general this is the case.

Address, yes you can get around it of course but for a valuable name it is a bit risky. A complaint to Denic and you could lose the domain.

Re the hyphens - that's something I heard from the guys at Namedrive and Rookmedia so yeah it is third hand info, maybe you are right.
