rule of thumb: stake solid coins, diversify platforms, never put all eggs in one basket

It depends
How long are you going to stake your coins? 99% coins are not reliable enough to be staked for years, they will just die or lose most of their value
For a few months it can be less riskier, but even so, it's not recommended for most coins

Most relevant to me is the steaking of the Stablecoins.
