Moneywise: Not unless you have a great reputation to go with, because with reputation, you can have some potential buyers from the forums. SEOwise, you'll gain very little from that activity unless the pages are do-f0110w and Quality...

    HTH :)

    Webmazter1,

As srb888 mentions, just having the links out there will have a marginal benefit. You have to build equity on forums. If I were you I would choose a few forums that you like and that you can make a contribution to and spend some time there each day. Help people out or post valuable information that you have uncovered in your own work. Once people see you as an authority ona topic, they will be more likely to click through on your link and see what else you have to offer. They might even buy from you.

There are a lot of opinions in this thread,

    Hope that helps,

If you're a good poster who offers value and helps people, then you'll eventually build reputation and authority...

if you're talking about spamming forums with crap posts and sigs: No!

Even gentle spamming, unless you really have something to add can be seen as trolling.

For SEO, there are a lot better uses of your time.

I would recommend having signature links on related websites to your business, as you can benefit from it in various ways such as:
More targetted visitors, ie you might create sales
Helps you having a more varieed link profile
