Just started using copyscape premium, and to test it out I quickly rewrote a sentence, trying to make it very similar so that I could see copyscape detect dup content.

    Rewritten:
If you had to double your weight over the next few months, what the heck would you do?
    Original:
If you were expected to double your weight in the next six months - what you have to do?

These obviously seem very similar, enough so to cause google to not enjoy my rewritten content. Yet... the rewritten sentence passed on copyscape.

So what's up? Is the rewritten sentence truly unique enough? To me, it doesn't seem like it at all...

Would pass as unique to me. You see, you seem to be comparing the words only not taking into consideration the context has slightly changed.

Copyscape works better for larger amounts of text. A better test would be where you copy a large paragraph from some website, make a few changes and then test if copyscape shows duplicated content.
