as titile said, is this kind of free domain bad for SEO?
Hi, I have used free sub-domain providers in the past and they do get indexed and provide traffic as well as any of my .coms. What I did notice was that the free sub-domain providers do take alot longer to appear in google so do not expect it to appear overnight.
You shouldn't mess with this stuff (for anything serious) because you never know when they decide to call it quits and you're left with nothing.
Is co.cc even still working? I got a domain a few months ago and it's still "under 24 hour examination"
Yes, good point. I would *never* use a domain which you do not have total control over for anything other then testing / blackhat purposes.
I have been aware of a few free subdomain providers just cancelling accounts or worse having entire domains banned from Google due to the amount of spam under them.
If you are serious, cough up the $7 for a domain and then yuo know you will have it in the future
only used for blackhat etc. dont host your life on it. the posts above pretty much summed it up
Nothing like .com and other top level domains..
Full control, SEs like it, "customers" trust it ...
Let free domains for other people who can't pay for domains.
Free subs are great for testing stuff, just don't reply on them
thanks for your advice guys
i tried a site with co.cc i tried seo but my site did not come in results for a long time though i had many pages indexed
don't try co.cc they are just free for 1 year and you make it rise up in ranks and when you have to renew it you will have to pay them according to the rank that you made the site.
You're off better using us.to which is free forever.
Some free sub domain providers actually block spiders, so be aware of this when you register. Also, another free sub provider waited until I had some sites indexed, did all the hard work re SEO and then re-pointed the domain back at their website.
Like I said, testing or BH only in my books
Best advice ever.
That should be the end of the thread ,and a permanant sticky.
co.cc know how to make money from their "free" domains.
just use it to try shit out like everybody else said
Separate names with a comma.
