hey guys, i couldnt find any actual info on bumping in the forum rules, so i would liek to ask you, if its allowed to bump your thread. for example if the issue is still current but you went to page 4-5 where nobody actually looks, regards

so do you have to make a new thread if you for example after 1 week still did not get the help you needed or something?

its just that i know bumping from other forums, like i make a thread for example: Looking for C# Developer !
After 1 week if nobody replied, but i still need a C# Developer i bump the thread, so how do people do that in this forum?
do they create another thread, do they just once per week write something like this: "still looking" , or do they ask friends to bump it, i couldnt find any info on this topic in the forum rules, except that bumping is not allowed in the marketplace which i guess i kinda understand

You can bump threads in scenarios like the one you just mentioned. I wouldn't worry about that.

Bumping in the marketplace happens all the time, and it takes several forms.

Most of the time nobody will get on your case for bumping your thread 1 time. If it's really important, maybe twice. Use discretion. After that, I'd say your thread hasn't garnered much interest in the people who have seen it, and you should probably let it go.
I'm speaking unofficially because I haven't found any official word on this. Bumping your thread won't win you anyone's respect, I'll say that. But it also probably won't get you an infraction (unless you're abusing it).

Sure you can do that If you don't get any responses, but with so much activity on the forum I am sure you won't need to bump.

I have seen threads here from way back in 2006 being bumped up by some newbie who thinks the thread is new. No need to worry about bumping your own thread. Someone will bump it, in time...
