lets talk hypotheticals if there was a blog catered towards bodybuilding and if all content was exactly the same, which blog would have more potential in terms of maximizing profit?

    -blogspot
    -wordpress
    or
    -tumblr?

someone told me blogspot is better because you can place more ads and it would get indexed better or something any truth to this?

Wordpress by far. You can utilize way more tools and plugins by leaps and bounds. You can also have more appealing themes, and can make a membership site etc. The sky is the limit in my opinion with wordpress.

That I know of you can't add plug ins like you can on WP on blogspot. It is true that blogspot gets indexed quickly since Google check its daily. However, Google likes WP a lot too. You can play with a lot more details and specifics in WP that you can't do with blogspot.

maybe you can, but wordpress is more professional and versatile.
i suggest staying away from g00gle as much as possible.
they can ban your blog at any time and there is nothing you can do about it.
best option is to get a domain, get a hosting account, and start your own wordpress blog.
always better to control your business more than having a large corporation (google) control it for you.

I think that wordpress is good too. Blogger is really basic. If you have done good SEO your Wordpress site will outrank blogger.

It is very difficult to suggest which one of them is better than the other. There are many factors to consider when it's about earning money. Imagine you have a blogger blog and a Wordpress blog. Both of them get eauql in number and quality traffic. However a Wordpress blog monetized with Adsense will earn you much less as compared to a Blogger blog that has been properly stuffed with Amazon or other affiliate products. In case of Blogger, if you carefully develop your blog and associate your own domain with it, it is the best choice for promoting affiliate products.
However, there are a few points which you should consider: With blogger there is much limited functionality that is otherwise provided by wordpress (e.g. plugins/widgets/themes etc.etc.). Tumblr is weaker as compared to both wordpress and blogger. I would rate them in the following order if all of them has the same content and all factors: 1] Wordpress 2] Blogger 3] Tumblr

I think OP was referring to Wordpress.com and not Wordpress.org self hosted.

In that case i think Tumblr is better because the social aspects of it , if mastered properly can generate targeted traffic without much efforts.

I dislike pretty much wordpress.com because of JS auto ban.

But indeed the best by far remains Wordpress self hosted.

WP is better in my opinion. A lot of people think that since Google owns Blogger.com, they'll favor Blogspot blogs in the SERPs. As to whether or not this is true, I don't know. Haven't seen any case studies or anything on it.

I was curious about this as well. Since I'm not at the point where I have money to invest in my own hosting yet I have been using Tumblr. As Abysse mentioned the social aspect of it makes it incredibly easy to get your posts noticed and in heavy rotation.

But I have been toying around with trying out Blogger or a Wordpress hosted blog. I want to learn wordpress because it seems pretty much standard for building sites etc. But then I have heard that hosting a blog on Wordpress isn't profitable because of their restrictions. On the other hand from what I understand Blogger is pretty adsense friendly.

Are there any benefits to hosting a wordpress hosted blog? Any ways of turning it profitable? Or is it best to stick to Tumblr and Blogger?

can i know your opinion why blogspot is better bro?

personally, i think blogspot is better because it will show ads not like wordpress.
self hosted wordpress is better, but i still have much to learn, investing right now is not a good option for me :)

Self-hosted Wordpress is the best. It can do anything Blogger can but you also build more equity so that your site will be worth more than one hosted at blogger which can't really be sold unless you sell the whole Google account.
