If you re-use content in 'permissible' ways (the site is set up curation-style, or pulls articles from article directories (with links and resource box intact), autoblogging isn't blackhat. You can even install a plug-in to load up a bunch of new articles in a WP blog, such that they get published at intervals you specify. In essence, you could upload 40-50 new articles that would drip-publish over several months or years, without further intervention by the blog owner.
Unless you're rewriting the content it's going to little to no SEO value as Google knows it's not unique and knows the site that published it prior to you doing so.
