Do you want to see it move up a lot faster?

Build backlins to it and strengthen the SEO on the site your Places points to.

Some of the best backlinks for local sites come by using directories and a great resource for getting those is Directory Maximizer. They use reputable directories and the backlinks really help local sites (we have found).

Just make sure you take the time to fill out the site profile with the best keyword rich description and the right categories.

Backlinking to you Maps Listing does not work one bit.. You are just wasting time and bandwidth on your VPS if you try it. Here are a few tips:

    - Make sure your listing is 100% complete
    - Place your self in as many directories as possible (yelp, kudzu, hotfrog, brownbook, local, botw, city squares, yp etc..) and use the exact same matching info from your places listing.
    - Next save the links for all of your profiles from these directories and place them in a "links" type page on your website.. Now ping this URL.
    - create a flickr account and upload images with the anchor text that you with to rank for - plumbers los angeles, plumbing los angles, emergency plumber los angeles
    - now add your biz info in a KML and geositemap on your site.. makie sure its same info as google places.

Once this is down you can see some results almost instantly! if not instantly then give a few months lol
