Is Affiliate Marketing industry down? what to do now?

Although i am sure about the answer to my question in the title of this post from most(not all) will be yes the affiliate business is down. Few may still be in green. Which is good.
Actually i should have reframed the question and asked it this way.
What is good to start in 2018. From 2 perspectives.
1- quick income (i know it is never long lasting)
2- long term and steady source. (which we think should stay here for at least few years)

Some info about me.
I started web design business 7-8 years back. Got my website on first rank for 2-3 years. For high competitive keywords like web designer india, web design india. web developer india.

After google 1 day unofficial update. I lost all ranks. Invested lot to bring them back, but failed.

So then started a software business for tracking affiliate traffic. Invested heavy amount and time into it but looks it still needs much more time and money which i dont have now. So may be need to put this on hold for some time.

Thought about email sending company. like aweber mailchimp etc.
But then my understanding says email service industry also at high rate of downfall.

So looks all old easy methods are at downfall.

So far looks blogging can be a good idea.
can you guys share your views please?

This is why you shouldn't run a business that is too dependant on SEO. Its just not stable.

Think about paid ads, youtube videos etc for traffic.

Maybe change your business model. Run a service based business where you can charge recurring fees to clients.

I heard from few friends that paid ads as well not giving desired results these days. Things have gone much tougher now, which is okay. But still some profits must be there to keep the hope alive.

Are paid ads working good for you?

Are you actively into affiliate business?
Wont ask specifics but curious to know which category you work in.
Are your revenues same as they were 6-8 months back?
last question, where you generating traffic from.

1. Yes.
2. mainly weight loss.
3. My revenue steadily increasing month by month.
4. google, social media.

Basicly ever method boils down to targeted traffic. If you can figure out where to find your audiance, every method is working and will work.

No method dies forever. I have been hearing from decades that Email marketing is dead.
Though first time heard that Paid ads are not performing. If they are not performing user is not knowing what to target.

Little advise, Research pretty well before u get into anything.

I take your advice. Thanks for it.
It will be nicer if you can share what exactly working for you. and where generating traffic from. And if you can share figures that will be icing on the cake.

Getting to know real experience helps much more than reading 20 articles.

It will be even nicer if you read. Check journey threads, those who are willing to share such things they start the journey threads. Also, read Niche hunting methods, Flippa method will work fine for you.

I don't want to sound rude. But it's a harsh truth. I can feed you a fish for a day, But the hunger will not end. you need to learn the art of catching fish by yourself mate. That way you will stand different from others. Start with the pinned posts from making money. There is a reason they are pinned.

No issues bro i am taking it positively.

It's nowhere near as lucrative or easy, but still some decent money to be made. Most of the contacts I've made on this forum and off have dwindled out of the industry and used their skills to build their own assets.

If you're going short-term, use it to bankroll a long-term project.

someone in my country get about 1500 dollar per month
ofcourse if you want bigger than that , it will be very difficult
