Today I got an idea to build a forum for my city. I can't seem to find anything where local people can get on a message board to discuss whats going on in the city. Id have different sections about evens, nightlife, restaurants, news, etc. My city has a little under 60,000 people, would that even generate enough traffic to make it worthwhile, and the most important questions is there money to be made??

How big is your city? A forum that has no users isn't going to work. So you need to be sure that your city has a large population and keep in mind that only a small percentage of that city would join an online forum. Maybe you could expand the area that you want to cover to increase the likeliness of having a good amount of users.

i dont think people would really feel inclined to join, maybe you should make a site and update it with all the things to do
