Is 2012 The "Beginning Of The End" for Facebook?!

Now that Facebook started asking everyone for tel (and more recently ID scan) verification everytime you add 5 friends and become non user friendly..
    IS this the END?

More & More people are deleting their Facebook accounts these days:

The trend for facebook stops growing ( and even starts decreasing few weeks ago when facebook started asking their user for their governement's scan ID!! )

Is this the end ? ( or at least the begining of the end?)

It will be interesting to see if the IPO will go through as expected this friday. I wonder if it could be worth as much as 95bn like they say it will be, but you might be right. After all asking for id scan and phone numbers has gone too far.

Facebook is an information whore, it knows more about the whole world than any of the worlds governments do. It's definitely not the beginning of the end of it and it won't be any time in the near future. Asking if the beginning of the end is coming for Facebook is like asking if Google will become extinct and will Bing take over.

Well maybe not exactly but you get the point?

Well I think the reason they are having their IPO now is that its reaching the top of the curve...But with the massive injection of cash they could move in any direction...

Also think the mobile integration that mircosoft, Google ,Apple have will be a factor in its downfall

Facebook is going no where soon. They have started on their own search engine (why do you think Google is panicking and doing all these updates) Imagine if the 800 million users (ok take out 200 million for the multi accounts of BHW members) imagine the 600 million people never having to leave FB to do a search? and that is only one area they can attack. There are rumours Fb is working on their own adwords/adsense? Infact with enough money behind them they could eat away at Google. Why re-invent the wheel? They can see what makes money for Google just copy. After all that is what Google does.

+ rep to goinviral for a solid answer. it does make you think though.

While I don't think facebook will become a carbon copy of google, it is the king of social media (for now at least) which is used multiple times a day every day. Just think if facebook created their own search engine integrated into their own search function (or toolbar) what would happen? it wouldn't be an immediate switch and the majoirty of people who would use that search function wouldn't know whether it was google or facebook they are using but there would be a massive impact. Personally I think that was the main reason behind G+ but that's opinion not fact.

Still interesting to think about but while no search engine functions the same as the others they do hold some key aspects above all else, well at least in my experience. Popularity, diversity, individuality and labeling

FaceBook is a form of online pollution...It eats away at everything including your privacy.
Now the real question is how we are going to do BlackHat techniques with FB since there
    requiring such high Credentials?

    Any answers or ideas/solutions?

^ ^ This. In my opinion. Google has signed it's own death warrant with a long line of restrictive changes. Facebook will probably take its place and not necessarily be better. Few things last as long as Amazon. You can count on change.

Every Success has his END, the only question is TIME. In my opinion, Facebook already started to feel his END.

The government ID thing is a bit nervous-making. Facebook becomes the interface between the world's population and one-world government.

Have you ever noticed that FB and G employees are not "public" like other company employees? Anyone know of a neighbor that works for either one of these companies.

In my old neighborhood, the goofy looking "Google car" that had the camera on the hood used to park in the driveway at a house down the block, and I always wondered if someday someone pro-privacy neighbor might site the Google car on fire as a means of protest. Oh wait, that was me. Oops. That's one of those things like fight club. It's also one of those things I'm a bit sorry I never did. Sort of waited around for someone else to set fire to the Google car but someone else was like me, sitting on his fat ass watching TV and eating processed food.

When I was a kid I never really liked Santa Claus because "he knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake". I always thought that fat pervert was a threat to me, constantly looking at me and everything I did, and I never really understood the kids and the adults that thought that Santa was so great. Then there was God, and his pervy voyeurism and I guess all of that was just to get me ready for the real-life constant surveillance by google, facebook and the government.

And the funny thing is, I've always interpreted all of them as a threat that should be destroyed, God included. It's only a matter of time before they can read your thoughts, and have you incarcerated indefinitely as a "threat to national security" in some place like Guantanamo Bay, just for thinking things lie, well for example thinking that we'd all be better off if the people that spent their lives spying on everyone else were dead.

Yeah, they'll probably put you in prison forever for thinking something like that, someday.

Seriously, look at the sloppy and half-assed manner in which speech is surpressed on various forums around the internet. Think the government's ability to determine what goodspeak and badspeak is, is going to be any better than what unpaid volunteers on privately-owned websites can do? Another thing. All those things we Americans were indoctrinated into believing were so bad about the former Soviet Union, all those things AND MORE are happening right here in the USA, and they are being extolled as patriotic virtues now. "If you haven't got anything to hide, why would you care if they (for example) monitor your phone calls.

Well, what about if someday I WANT to plot the overthrow of the government, but I don't because my phone calls are being monitored? Part of what I'm saying is that the Google and Facebook employees might want to think twice about their physical safety if they intend to be a de facto arm of the government's intelligence services, because in an armed revolution, they are going to be targets just like the actual government employees. I think at some level they understand this, hence they get privacy that is not afforded to everyone else.

In fact, my website just go a solicitation from a google employee wanting to talk about some new sales program they have. I ran a google search of her name with no results. How likely is it that a sales employee of the biggest sales company on the planet just "accidentally" has no online presence associated with her name? No accident at all. Privacy goes to the people working for the government, and it's being stolen from the people that pay for that government to run.

But anyways, non of that is my point. My main point is that Santa Claus and any other perv that wants to watch me all the time, deserves a severe beat-down and possibly a dirt nap.

Oh, and while I'm being incendiary, I'll also add that they found about 50 heads the Mexcian Zetas chopped off and dumped on the highway to the United States. Why is this allowed to continue? Because our government is paid partner in the Mexican drug cartels, and if were to be stupid enough to interfere with how they do business, they'd start killing american politicians too.

Which, if you think about it, would be a good thing. We should set-up some kind of poll, which US politican shoudl the Zetas kill first?

Ya, a few weeks ago FB asked me for a copy of my government issued ID. From there I said screw FB, which is said because I actually keep in touch with long lost friends, distant relatives, and update pics of my kids on my FB. But I refuse to give them my ID.

I keep my personal FB personal. I have never tried to run viral scripts, spam, or anything else from my FB. But, I am pretty sure that they know who I am. And by asking for my personal info I got nervous and felt as tho they were asking me to verify that I am the same person who has been butt fucking them for the past few years.

So like I said in my BST thread, FB this is how I feel about you...

Now imagine if you had the latest fb, yt, twitter bots with thousands of proxies at your disposal running on a dozen quad core servers all offshore, with enough pva's and non-pva's to spam the fuck out of these networks 24/7 with your twisted and fucked up reality that might be closer to the truth than people might think. Maybe you could make a difference then, but now your are just Nigel Farage talking out of his ass , that is if you can get your message across millions of people and then have them all thinking all the same shit.

You have to think that 2005 fb is not that popular yet so search result should be low
