Yes, it's too high. You can easily buy domains for under $10. If you have 50+ domains you get some nice discounts too. I would recommend NameCheap.

I recommend namecheap too for those reasons. Plus they're easy to deal with.

if its com, I never pay more than 8 (with coupons) godaddy, namecheap, name..... and many more. Hosting providers tend to overcharge for domains

Actually just got one for $7.39 with godaddy with a coupon I found on google. Fan3, I don't think that's an affiliate code, but if it is, my apologies. It's not mine.

*edit* that was a .com btw.

there was a deal on godaddy "holiday99" for .coms for 99 cents or something like that. I had justhost too, just buy it somewhere else and point the name servers to ns1 pipedns com etc. its somewhere online just google it....

All details are there in posts above. Search for coupons. I am using Godaddy. Have variety of coupons to attract us. They gives out .99$ domains everymonth. Search for that. Only one allowed per account, you have to pay with CC, PP not allowed. The price you suggested is too high. I once purchased some for 4$ with some coupons, try searching and register. Without coupons godaddy too seems a little bit costly.

    All the best.

If you use name cheap... use the coupon code of

    JINGLENAMES

it'll give you a few cents off, nothing to write home about
