I currently have over 50,000 followers on instagram and growing and i want to set up a niche website to direct these people to so that i can make some money off ads.

My instagram has to do with fitness

Anyone have any tips on what i should name my blog? should i give it the most simple name possible that actual people would search for? something like

"workout-tips.blogspot" (Granted its not taken) ? or would i be better off giving it a completely unique name?

also is 10 dollars a year a good price for domain?

how crucial is having an actual domain name like "workouttips" vs "workouttips.blogspot" ?

Always try to get your keywrods in your domain.

    $10 is a good price.

Very crucial. That's not to say that any domain won't work but if you are trying to rank it then it's important. If all you are doing is redirecting traffic to a site for the purpose of clicking ads, etc. Don't think it really matters which one you choose.

You can't have my bots. Sorry :'(
As was mentioned above you will want to fit the keywords into your domain somehow. Unfortunately for you the fitness niches are pretty damn saturated (shakes, vitamins, etc), so it might even be worthwhile to slide in "instagram" into your domain as well.

You will also want to consider that most of your users will be visiting your page on their mobile browsers, so mobile optimization is a huge deal. That being said, monetizing those users will be a chore since mobile users are notoriously lazy as far as filling out offers/surveys go.

To answer your question: Yes. $10 is fine. There are even coupons floating around for $1 .com's for a full year.

It's around $10 in most of the sites unless there are offers and discounts. Check for coupons you might save couple of $.

As mentioned above there are coupons and you can get a domain for 1$ or so. Try namecheap.com . They are really cheap and you can google coupons easily.

When it comes to your idea and name, all "regular" names are already saturated, so I don't think EMD will help you there much. You can make better rankings and profit if you have valuable content. That is something you should have on your mind. I a sea of names like "workout-tips", "fitness tips" I vote for something unique. You just have to think outside of the box. For ranking it EMD will give you boost, but on a long run uniqueness and content always win the race.

Long story short, I would pick http://www.fitnessmagna.com/

    Goodluck! :)

Id rather be creative and create a brand than just try to get something with keywords.. your traffic is gonna come from your instagram regardless..
