OK, I am using Hide My IP Premium service. It's really very cheap, I like them but it seems I need more IPs now :) I want to install another program at my second computer, so I'm looking for a new solution.

Basically, Is IPRental.com better than Hide My IP? It's more expensive (although about $50/mo for new IP every 2 minutes:> but is it better?

    I've read there:

Q: How often do IP Collisions occur (Repeated IP)?
A: Our system is designed to not give you the same IP twice within a ten day period, and even outside of the ten days it is very unlikely you will get the same IP otherwise known as a collision.

It's good, as with Hide My IP I often use the same IPs (which is not that good) and I have to put them into do-not-use list to avoid using one IP twice a day (or week).

So, what's your opinion? Basically, I need many IPs, US preferred, the more, the better :> Max at $50/mo

If you are thinking about getting iprental for posting on CL just be aware that you'll need PVA

I know that, but CJ is the last thing I need it for.
So, can anyone tell me whether those IPRental as good as they claim? Do they really have all those IPs and you can change them every 2 minutes and yo'll not be given the same IP twice within a ten day period? Will somebody know that this is a proxy or will thej just see that some US based IP (user) entered? (this is basically the question I need to find answer for :)

Just don't want to spend my money to find out they are not very good.

Please, I do need someone who uses them!

i was talking about Craigslist not CJ,
they really have lots of ips and they'll change ur ip every 2-13 for regular membership(u can't change ip in less than 2 minutes unless you are premium member)
you wont get the same ip for at least 10 days,no1 could know you are using a proxy, and its really fast.
jp is the customer support for iprental , hes been nice and helpful at the beginning but last few weeks hes just keep promising they'll upgrade "TODAY" which untill today didnt happen....
anyway...i'm giving them another month to test if it'll improve

I use IPRental and i have it set to change my IP once every 3 mins. It changes to a random us based IP, but you can change it for a eastern, central, or western part of the US.
All IP's are softblocked on CL, however 2 weeks ago they said there quadrupling their IP's within a week. (now it's been a week since they said it would happen, but who knows)
They have an addon for firefox to disable it when browsing in there, so for example browsing forums etc or checking the news wont be slow.
Hopefully they get more IP's soon though that aren't softblocked.

Hey I spoke to JP yesterday and he said that too - today they are coming out with new enhancements blah blah.
Regardless, one of the things he said was that IPrental is coming out with an option to have it localized, i.e if you are posting to NY CL you can use a NY IP, he claims that with this option you will not need a PVA.

Anyone care to comment and tell me if it's possible?

it used to be like that, that if you are geo-ip is close to the city you post in you wont need pva,i don't see it anymore,if my ip is softblocked for one city it will be for every other city

i really hope that ip rental gets more ip's. when i started using a cl macro i did not plan on having pva's. i am also going to experiment with some dialup providers to see if i can find one that is not soft blocked.

    PVA = Phone verified accounts.
Craigslist requires you at times to verify the account you create via phone. they call you, give you a pin code and then you have to put it in the account window.

PVA is short for phone verified account. If an ip has been abused/overused they will require this to post in most categories. Some categories require it no matter what (services etc.)

Up until a month ago I gave iprental a two thumbs up as you could cycle through ips and not have to wait 2 minutes and the ip's were not blocked/banned. It was reasonably priced and as advertised. They have since came out with MULTIPLE mandatory updates that are not working to well. For example: If you set your lease time to 10 minutes it can and will at some point change whenever it wants to. Like right in the middle of posting it will switch and then you are guaranteed to get ghosted and you may as well scrap the email you were using also.

The part that really burns me is when I first signed up I could change my ip whenever and then JP went and changed it to 2 minute waits. If you want to be able to change your ip whenever you would need to upgrade to the $100+ a month package. NOT what I signed up for. And to put the 2 minute wait time into perspective I get a good ip every 10 changes. That 20 minutes of nothing! Then when I finally get a good ip it will not even last the specified lease time (10 minutes).

Not to completely put the blame on iprental there are some idiot posters out there that are posting 10 ads per ip until it is banned then move on to the next. But what they are guilty of in my opinion (aside from what I have already mentioned) is overselling. They should have closed up shop and not sold anymore ip packages. It is now unusable for everyone as far as craigslist goes. If they truly have 200,000 ip's they should alot each customer a block exclusive to them and if they want to get their ip's banned so be it that won't effect everyone else who is minding their p's and Q's!! Ironically my subscription ran out today and I will not be renewing unless things are drastically changed.

Thanks!! Sure, for CL, not bot CJ (what I was thinking about when I wrote that..))

Seems really great, I'll try them as well, I'll leave my Hide MY IP premium service on the second PC, as I've already paid 1 year in advance, and will switch to iprental at my primary one. Hide MY IP are good, but I get the same IP quite often ;-/ although I use "Smart Switch" option.

"change ur ip every 2-13 for regular membership" + fast - that's what I need. I don't need to change IP less than in every 2 minutes. At least, in the meantime :)

ups, it means, that you cannot use IP for the set amount of minutes YOU need and it will change automatically even if you don't want to change IP, at a set amount of minutes? That sucks ;-/ In Hide My IP I can set "change IP every ... minutes" and I can disable that feature, enabling "always use the same IP" or simply switching to the new IP when I want..

Anyway, if you cannot hold IP until you don't need it, you can set it .. for example, to change every 20 minutes, then when you don't need it anymore, just make changes in settings like "change every 2 minutes" then wait only 2 minutes until IP is changed. Will it work? Trying to tweak the service and make it more
    usable.

Well, the IPrental update finally came out a couple of days ago. I was NOT impressed, you had to have the $100 package for CL posting (they said it would be awesome for CL). I got them to give me a few hours free to try since I was already subscribed with another package. Well, they say for CL postings you have to choose SLOW IPs, and believe me, they are SLOW... Probably had a ton of traffic on them and they aren't designed to have that much, kept getting page can not be displayed errors. Also when you did finally get through, it seemed after launch, about 2 hours later, 75% of the slow CL posting IPs had already been blocked.

Depends on your region/area and speed plan. Usually between 20-50 a month. Worth it if you need to switch up your IP. It goes right through the phone land line so you can still keep your cable connection. Personally, I have both. :)

IPRental is cool, however I am having a problems when using it on some ajax forms (for no apperant reason to me). You can change IP every two minutes, or deceide to use it for 12 minutes max. Well worth of price (in my opinion), but needs some thinking on how to use it to its full potential.
