That's a pretty cool website, never saw it before.

Anyone know what is causing the downtimes?

We're aware of the issue, it's a problem with the hosts/BT and not us.

    It's all in hand though.

Not sure but I think it is something to do with BT infrastructure.
Today my fibre connection is almost like dial up.

I'm glad mine had no issues. I actually love BT but they seem to have more issues than rival companies such as Virgin Media.

75mb up and 18 down is pretty good though.

Yea definitely infrastructure problem because I have seen a lot of companies in my area that have a connection but its intermitnent / slow / certain websites not working and so on. So it seems like a routing issue of some sort.

Maybe for home connection. Virgin Media Business is crap, though. We placed a leased line order for a backup link to our datacenter and they still haven't managed to get the connection into the building after 7 months. No response to emails either, and once we phoned them up, we were promised a callback from someone. Needless to say, nobody called.

    That doesnt sound good.

I know in the past that for home internet they were very good, very fast but their statbility was not good at all. I remember some issues that were being complained about on their forums where certain routes were exceptionally slow, certain traffic blocks and some other obscure issues.

Where I worked previously we also had a similar issue where the latency was really bad and it prevented certain services (Like certain type of streaming over VPN link) from working properly.

Maybe they are better now, i dont know.

Not for me been solid for 11 years. Different houses too.
Well that sucks, not what you expect from any company. You're right to be utterly disappointed with them.

Sky worked fine, love this tweet shown on the telegraph site " BT get criticised for poor service then promptly huge parts of their network go into meltdown - PR disaster anyone... "
