    Hi guys,

I have a question for you, and would really appreciate your insight. I am currently building bac- links for a few non-English site in order to get a good ranking on the local Google, for example Google.es or Google.it , how valuable are links from English language websites ?
For example, are do-follow links from social bookmarking sites in English going to help improve my site?s ranking?

To answer your question short. Yes!!

Do-follow links from English SB sites help improve local Google rankings.

As long as you're using/including your targeted keyphrases as your anchor text, the links from english social bookmark sites are valuable.
I've seen many many many foreign sites' urls in those bookmark sites, especially russian sites.

You might want to use google local business listing and google maps for local optimization.

I was wondering if links from english language sites help rank better in the local Google search engines (e.g. Google.es). Seems they do :)

Hmm, I think it wouldn't really matter so much on .com but as you get local specific, international sites in the target languages will help.

I'll let someone experienced in this answer better lol.
