I have searched through the forum for a rough and ready answer to this query.I have read that throwing up a large site(1,000 pages+?) instantly, signals Google that there might be something fishy.
But unless you have submitted a sitemap, G wouldnt know there was how many pages there were.
It could only tell the number of pages after spidering/indexing.
1/So...what is the largest site that you could throw up without attracting attention using a sitemap(I find it better for getting pages indexed).?
2/What empirical methods/results has anyone ever seen for instant/large sites being sandboxed/deindexed/penalised etc..quicker than a smaller site.?
Thanks

There usually won't be an issue when throwing up 1k pages or so to start, as long as there is a proper launch and there is a continual addition of pages after that. So if you are only going to have 1k pages total considering adding like 50-100 pages per day for 10 days.

I've added 1k-2k pages right away with a sitemap and kept domains indexed for a long time, even without adding pages after that. By the way is this really whitehat seo? If not i'll move it to the right category.

Yah, just dont go balls out. Do like 100 pages every other day until you get to the 1000. Just make sure they have some original content on them

Thanks for the help!
Much appreciated..

Cough...er..no its not....if you could move it please that would be great.

Heh, not a problem, done and done. Pm me if you need any more personal help or questions about content generation, ip delivery, etc.

I believe there's a strong relationship between links, indexed pages and 'flaging'. If you show a lot of pages to google without having backlinks in place then it will raise a flag, and may cause a penalty or a ban.

So, add some pages, get some links, let them mature, add more pages, get more links, ...

Nobody knows but from watching my sites I think you're safe with a hundred or perhaps two hundred pages to start, get a few tens of backlinks, leave for a few weeks for them to be seen, add another block of pages.....

While you're waiting, do the same on another domain, or another hundred...
