I am trying to install wordpress for my main domain on my hosting acct. However it always installs it in the root directory which creates a lot of clutter. I want to create a new directory so that i can keep things organized. How do i do this?

When using Fantastico (Cpanel) you can give a location for the WP install in the "Install in directory" field.

You must not create the folder yourself, the installer takes care of that.
