Instagram's Pop Page is Definitely Different Now

I think it may be more of an "explore" page now versus a totally popular page because I see a lot of regular people popping up on it, but we have a connection somehow whether I follow someone they follow or they are located in the same city as me. I have noticed this change.

The popular page sure changed, if you like alot of fitness photos then that is going to show up on the explore page

If you like quotes then quotes show up ect.
Proven fact.

It just shows up results from what you searched before, but if you delete your search history you get the typical pop page

Seems like instagram wanted to make it difficult for popular accounts to make $$$ per post.

Not for me. I deleted the search history several times and still did not get the regular pop page.

Not even sure what algorithm is used for the explore/pop page now...
