I started 5 accounts posting only reels, one week in and after 20 reels posted I got a sum of 27 views accross 100 reels. Is this normal and the accounts need time to get warmed up and start getting views or is this not normal? I should mention that these accounts have a few botted followers. Also the accounts are not shadowbanned according to the Instagram "Status" page in the settings of the app.

Instagram is not a Tik Tok - no free views if you don't have real followers.
Start with mass following, get your first 200+ followers after start posting reels every day.

Why will you get views if you have all botted followers and no real followers to begin with? You need to start with following real people, then you will start getting views. Then you just need to wait for one reel to go viral, after which the account picks up.

You need to warm up your accounts for a few weeks. You can use them like a normal user such as like, comment and engage with other users to get some followers. After warming up, you can start posting reels.

I think it's either your account doesn't have any followers yet or the content is really so bad that Instagram doesn't want to propose it to other users

That's the side effect of relying purely on the algorithm to bless you with views. That's why this forum exists. For those who got tired of doing everything right, playing by the rules, and still getting absolutely nowhere with organic reach. Look into jumpstarting your growth with some black hat methods first and then you may start to see better organic reach as a result of your newly acquired audience.

IG is all about business so no free views for anybody.

thats not true mate

If you used a newly created or unused account, then yes. these are normal numbers. you need to warm up the account or buy an already warmed up account

You need interaction, for this you need to follow to big profiles, text comments, liking, and promote your profiles, you can also buy some engagement on your posts

No social platform will give you decent views anymore.

Even old accounts hard to get free 100 views these days without you interacting with other accounts.

I think you do not have real followers, that's why don't gain views. So firstly you need to interact. Also, try to use hashtag.

Guys, these social media apps are exceedingly simple. Most of these explanations, while not inaccurate, are way too complicated.

The way social video algorithms work (go on p*rnhub for the best example of it in action):

1. Provide value to viewers so users stay on the app for as long as possible
2. Repeat

Since the apps cannot create the content themselves, they rely on you - the creator - and instead focus their own efforts on analyzing the value of this content and pushing highest value content the most.

Now how the algorithm actually determines content value is debatable, but with this concept in mind and a bit of common sense a few things become apparent:

Is recycled content which has been posted 1000 times already bringing any extra value to the platform? No.

I guarantee you if I made an account from scratch, and posted a reel with Bill Gates offering to give away his company for free to a random user who comments on it (and the reel was 100% authentic), I would get over a million views in less than a few days.

Its like guys who go on tinder and get no matches, they start asking "am i shadowbanned? Is the algorithm broken"?

Its not the platform, its you. These tech things are smart, if youre not bringing any new value to their users they have no interest in having you on.

By the way, this is all info from Derral Eves, if youre a bit skeptical to take advice from some fanta bottle on an internet forum. Derral is a social media algorithm coach for a client named Mr. Beast, you may have heard of him.

Well said.

It is idea to add trending hash on every post to get trend/rank with the trends with views and other algorithms.
