Hi,
Does instagram mentions work nowadays. I've heard they are powerful but now sure if it's now.

What do you mean work?

You can still use mentions - so in that case they work fine.

Do you mean can you spam 100s and 1000s of mentions all day? Then no.

They are underrated. I think it's one of the most powerful tools out there

you include @profile1 @profile2 in your comments / captions so the user @mentioned gets a notification they were mentioned

Do too much and they won't show up and the Accounts will be banned quick

I'd recommend having a reason for @mentioning profiles.

If you are commenting on random images, @mention profiles who have liked the tweet, or commented on the tweet, or are followers of the profile that posted the image. They already have a connection to the profile / image so can seem more genuine.

When @mentioning users in your captions, if you are posting an image related to #hashtag1 mention people who have also posted content with #hashtag1 etc

True, if you @mention or #tag too much in your captions IG posts an empty caption. But this can be detected and then you can stop posting, or stop posting # and @ in your captions.

The comments gets ghosted if the account gets pv'ed after you post mentions
