Hey,
Will Informational sites suffer most in the near future due to ChatGPT and Google generative AI search? Most people will use ChatGPT for informational answers, and Googles new generative AI will make informational sites useless. The winners are those who have product-driven sites and focus on PPC ads.

Your thoughts?

They are the 1st ones to be humbled.

Others will follow soon:
The winners are those who have product-driven sites and focus on PPC ads.
What makes you think the future of AI will be limited to what we are witnessing now?

The real WINNERS are going to be those who build their Brand identity.

Evolution & adaptation in SEO makes it immortal and people still speculate SEO IS/WILL BE DEAD.

If you don't improve on it, than yeah it will get hurt a lot.
i already see a lot project that will basically bring personal assistant to mobile device/pc/browser that help answer it directly, i can see this become norm in the future

Yes.

Speed will determine level of suffering. If your producing articles based on widely known information you'll get crushed.

If your fast, ie a new iphone comes out and you have an article out within 24 hours before LLMs have a chance to generate results, you'll probably win big.

AI will thin the herd for sure. Big winners will win bigger, if your middle of the pack or lower you're in for a bad time.

yessir, just another way that big companies like google are squeezing out small business :D
