It's funny .
I read an ad that came today to BHW users about $200 being too much for a guest post on a 'quality site' ... that's so much horse bullshit, there's no farm that could hold all the horses needed to produce such manure
This forum's full of carpet-baggers selling 'snake oil' but it's great, we also have the opportunity to educate people as well.
This made me laugh and I want to help fellow users on this topic. I've seen numerous clients get ripped off here, for the same type of scam... People saying they will get them on Yahoo, CNN, Entrepreneur.. You just need to 'pay up front' or pay half of up front..........
1) If there's no BST Post, it's a scam. Period.
2) Most are selling press releases you can find on Fiverr for $5 to $15 , when selling 'posts' on these types of sites. And Press Releases have no true back-link value and it's reflected in how fast the posts will disappear from search and Google News search. Actual ,unique news articles, do not disappear if it's on a high authority site like that. Not at all.
Now, back to the price of writing..............
There's a reason some sites, get higher ranking. It's called "HIGH QUALITY WRITING" and "High retention reads" . Major sites have writers that keep people engaged and browsing other content. Google/YouTube ranks content based on who's getting the best retention in most cases.. period. Exceptions to every rule in science, but that's a safe general rule of thumb.
High Retention/Effort writing, gives more value to any guest post / news post sponsor, because the post holds its position in search. Most times, it even grows in value. And the site continues to grow in DA/PA , increasing value in various ways.
This means the back-link too, grows in power with the site.
Now, I want to inform people, what a professional writer charges. Stop thinking there's a way around this. There is None for elite level publications.
1) There is (almost) NO WAY you will ever get a post on CNN for $500, legitimately. You might be able to 'go behind the deck' of an editor to get him to drop the price, after some pants get dropped, if you know someone personally ...... but other than that... can't see it (joke).
Why? Smaller publications like LATimes, Washington Post, etc, pay their writers $300-$700 per story written, depending on their status.
Sites like CNN, ESPN, Entrepreneur, others... of elite level.. I'd expect $400 - $1k, for a writer to take their time to research and complete a guest post..
2) Why are writer rates this high? These writers have to take their time from other work that is more natural to them to research, understand, and generate content tailored to your audience. If they are a decent writer, they will take it serious and get emotionally attached to the work to the point, they can only write the story if comfortable with the topic. That emotion is what feeds the reader and engages them, from my experience.
Now, back to Site posts in general...
American writers are working for .05 cents minimum, most of the time today. This is a general rule of 2021. Been this way since 2019, as far as I know. Quality writers on many sites are asking .08 to .10cents per write. Some even more.
So basically, what I'm saying with this.............. If you spend $150 on a DA50 site , knowing the site has an expense of $100 to get a post. And then there's a writer + another guy paying for promotion/ads to reach who has to also get a part, trust me..... this is why your'e seeing minimal results from your back-links.
Or so you can visualize:
$150 (guest post price)
- $100 ( site charge )
------------------------------------
$50 remains
- $5 (marketing cost)
- $5 (website hosting / for business)
------------------------------------
$40 remains
- $5 ( foreign writer )
------------------------------------
$35 remains
- $3 PayPal fees for accepting payment
- $.35cents PayPal deposit
------------------------------------
$31.65 remains
^
For a profit like this.................with NOTHING ELSE going wrong...Do you really expect quality?
And honestly, a DA50 site for $100 is a low-ball. Damn sure not getting on a CNN, Forbes, LATimes, Washington Post, etc for these prices.
Only a few, small-time bloggers sell at this price. Low , low traffic.
Such prices indicate :
1) Spun content or AI Content
2) Foreign writer who doesn't understand the culture to write from a perspective your target audience would relate
3) Spammer Network, buying in bulk to unload shit without much care on quality control
4) Website with falsified domain stats, no US traffic, or something
Well......................... Just something educational for you guys.
I'm sure some will critique this but I just want people to be realistic .
