This is a piece we recently put together.. it helped us secure a great placement on http://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/infographics-for-seo-strategy yesterday, which has already resulted in some epic leads. I've spoke about infographics here A LOT in the past.. they're excellent tools in opening doors to placements you'd otherwise never have a hope of acquiring.

The http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/infographic-why-long-form-content-is-better-how-to-create-it.864546/went down well, so I thought I'd share this one too.

Feedback and questions are welcomed as always...

The importance of infographics in the form of an infographic.

Excellent choice!

In terms of actual SEO, and not CRO, surely using an optimised article would be better for ranking purposes? Once you get the visitors to the page then I agree that going down the infographic route is worth it, in some cases, but I'm not sure if there is actually any benefit seo-wise. That being said, I haven't really researched image ranking vs article ranking much, so I could very well be wrong.

Do you have any tips to help optimize articles with infographics in for ranking? I just had a quick glance over this, and it only really talks about on-page stuff that you should be doing anyway.

"Today I'm going to show you why infographics are important"

*uses infographic*

"Got it?"

I know but, shall I do like an introduction paragraph and maybe a conclusion? For that you're relying on already having some non-se traffic right?

nice. i plan on doing responsive infographics for my next campaign using a 3rd party site. It's annoying having to zoom in all the time.

Got ya.. yeah I'm not attempting to rank an infographic anytime soon. I'm using it as a tool to bring quality natural inbound links and mentions to my site. We'll push it through other channels to get that going.. the hubspot placement is a good example.

But yes, a paragraph or two won't hurt.

Usually an intro paragraph is included with an infographic. I hardly see a conclusion written after the infographic bc the infographic speaks for itself.

Helpful and interesting. Seems like Infographics are the way to go on modern marketing, or at least they're significantly important. I will definitely try using this on a BST in the near future. Good stuff.

thanks for this! any advice on how to actually go about creating it? or getting one done?

Another great post by tommy bro :D
Yes, Infographic is valuable :D

Great post and it's clear to see the power of this type of content. I guess publishers love them because they are so visually appealing compared to text and from a readers point of view it's just so much easier to become informed because little snippets of info jump out at you - compared to a 2000 word article that you might need in place of that infographic, which would take much more time and energy to digest.

I have a question though - producing this type of content must be expensive - I can see you have a great designer and I'm guessing you have a very good copywriter as well. How much preparation do you do beforehand in planning how to push this out to the world and how confident are you about how the ROI beforehand?

I love the fact that you're using an infographic to describe the importance of infographics.
